The Buick Lacrosse is one of the best values in the used car market. It is an American-made car that was first introduced by the company in 2005 as a new model.
Although it went through some changes throughout the years, many people still love this particular vehicle and would prefer to choose it over other cars on today’s market. Here is a brief history of the Buick Lacrosse that will help you understand why this is such an important part of American automobile culture.
History from 2005-2013:
In 2005, Buick released their new LaCrosse with a fresh exterior design, luxurious interior with leather seating space for five, and modern technology features like a keyless start. This engine had six and was capable of producing close to 300 horsepower.
In 2007, the car was updated with new features. Some of these included a power liftgate, traction control, and a touchscreen stereo.
In 2008, more changes were made when the LaCrosse received a four-inch update which included new alloy wheels, front LED running lights, navigation system updates, dual heated seats for the driver and passenger as well as several other interior tweaks. There were also exterior changes that gave it an even more upscale look. For example, it had chrome accents on the grille and remote start installed into many models.
As the years progressed, so did the new designs and features of the car. By 2012, there was even an option to purchase the vehicle with all-wheel drive, 18-inch alloy wheels, and green exterior color. The trim levels were also upgraded with Grand Touring as the highest level of luxury that included a touchscreen, leather seats, and a premium sound system.
In 2013, the LaCrosse was discontinued but in 2015 it was brought back into production at the GM Fairfax plant.
History from 2014-present:
The LaCrosse went through a revamp in 2014 with completely new styling and more upgrades. This included four trims levels: standard, luxury, performance, and premium luxury. Each one is equipped with Buick IntelliLink technology, WiFi for up to seven devices, rear-seat USB ports, touchscreen radio options, LED exterior lighting, leather seating spaces that are heated/cooled on all four seats, among other things. The vehicle also has three different engine types available: eAssist with an eight-speed transmission that works together with start-stop technology to help improve gas mileage, two cylinders, and four cylinders.
The 2016 model was given an eight-speed transmission, Apple CarPlay standard, Sirius XM radio availability, remote start option on more trims, SUV-like suspension system to enhance the car’s stability while maintaining a good performance during turns. The interior also has plenty of upgrades including new woodgrain patterns for the center console and steering wheel that includes leather upholstery.
Recently in 2017, some new features were added that included wireless connection for Android or iOS devices via Buick’s IntelliLink system which allows people to connect their phone directly to the vehicle through Bluetooth or WiFi. There is also a rear-seat USB port available for every trim, a built-in navigation system that comes standard, and a brand new safety feature called Vehicle Confidence which includes features like forward collision alert, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert system, among other things.
